Southampton look to hand United a second loss

Southampton will look to hand Manchester United a second straight loss in the Premier League when the teams meet in the opening match of Round 4 this coming weekend, 31 August – 1 September.

The clash will be held at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday 31 August 2019, with kick-off at 11:30.



Southampton come into the game on the back of two successive wins: they beat South Coast rivals Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 in the Premier League last weekend, before a midweek 1-0 triumph at Fulham in the Carabao Cup.

Man United, meanwhile, suffered their first loss of the campaign last weekend when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Crystal Palace. The Red Devils struggled to replicate the form which brought them a 4-0 win over Chelsea in the opening round and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want a quick response from his team.
