2024-25 Spanish La Liga
Matchday 30
Barcelona v Real Betis

Kick-off is at 21h00

Barcelona will look to take a step closer to a 28th La Liga title when they host Real Betis at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Saturday, April 5 in the late kick-off.

The Blaugrana have ratcheted up the pressure on Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid after embarking on a nine-match winning streak.

Hansi Flick's side showed their resilience by winning two games in the space of three days after the international break to pull three points clear of Los Blancos at the league summit.

Barca's outstanding fixture against Osasuna was rescheduled for March 27 and they ran out 3-0 victors before beating Girona in a Catalan derby three days later.

Betis are making a late push for UEFA Champions League football and they're the in-form team behind the league leaders after winning their last six games on the spin.

Manuel Pellegrini's side battled back from behind to overcome city neighbours Sevilla 2-1 on March 30 to close within six points of the top four in sixth position.

However, they face a fight from Villarreal, who are tied with them on 47 points, but crucially have a game in hand as well as a superior goal difference.

Flick was pleased to see his players respond after the Whites and Reds equalised through Arnaut Danjuma on 53 minutes, with Barca scoring three goals in the final 29 minutes to claim victory.

"We are in great form at the moment and we are creating a lot of chances when we have the ball. What I take from today is our ability to react after the break," the German said.

"I am really happy for the win and the dominance we showed. The great thing about my team is that we always want to score goals and everyone likes to see that."

Pellegrini is delighted with how Antony has matured since his arrival on loan from Manchester United in January, contributing two goals and two assists in eight league appearances.

"He is a very special player, it is not a coincidence when €100 million are paid for a player," the Chilean told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser. "He arrived with the conviction that he had to mature.

"He has more than enough conditions; more than demonstrating his ability, he is demonstrating his functionality and his capacity to be a practical player.

"Now he is more focused on finishing the play, on taking crosses. He is showing a lot of humility and accepting the challenge of evolving in his career because he is still very young."
