Real Madrid will have the challenge of keeping up the pace for the
La Liga title when they lock horns with Athletic Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Sunday night, 20 April.
Los Blancos won their most recent league match against Alaves 1-0 away, and will be looking to carry over that form into their next home clash.
Doing a decent job at bouncing back after losing 3-0 to Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, the Madrid team will be working hard not to fall off the pace in the race for the La Liga title.
Head coach Carlo Ancelotti is demanding better defending from his team, especially after being humbled by the Gunners.
"Above all in recent weeks there's been a general dip (among the team)," Ancelotti said in a press conference.
"We have let in a lot of goals in recent games and we have to put a stop to that, above all when those up front are not as effective as usual."
Meanwhile, Athletic Bilbao are fourth in the standings and are looking to qualify for the Champions League next season. Having recently consolidated their position after a win against Rayo Vallecano, they will aim to keep up the momentum.
Head coach Ernesto Valverde recently spoke of the importance of having forward Inaki Williams in the team as they continue their pursuit of success.
“For us, Inaki Williams already knows what he means because of the heart he has and how he pushes us. For us, this victory means a lot. We are a team that has just arrived in continental competition after years and it leaves us in a good position,” he said.
