Max Verstappen will be eager to get his Formula One world title defence back on track by winning the
Azerbaijan Grand Prix for the second time.

The Red Bull Racing driver failed to secure a podium spot at the Italian Grand Prix on 1 September, the most recent race in the 2024 Formula One World Championship season.
Verstappen started on the seventh grid and he went on to finish sixth which saw him collecting eight points after a competitive race.
Formula One title ambitions
The 2013 World KZ championships winner remains at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings having collected 303 points.
Verstappen is now 62 points ahead of second-placed Lando Norris of McLaren and all eyes will be on the two drivers at the Baku City Circuit.
Why Verstappen could win the 2024 Italian Grand Prix
The pressure is mounting on the reigning Formula One world champion who has failed to win a race in the last five events in the current season.
Verstappen returns to the Baku City Circuit where he was crowned the 2023 Azerbaijan Grand Prix champion and he knows how to win the race.
What did he say?
“I just do the best I can, if I win [the title] it or not, it’s not going to change my life. Would I like to win it? Yes, of course. But it’s not in my hands with the performance of the car because I just try to do the best I can, try to give feedback, try to make it faster," Verstappen said ahead of the 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
"If that’s going to be enough to the end of the year, I don’t know, but I do know that we’re going to give it everything we have as a team to try and be more competitive than what we’ve shown and just go from there.
“Would I like to win more? Yes of course. But I also knew that a season like last year is very unrealistic, but did I expect it to be like this? Not really with how we ended and how we started. So now it’s up to us to just try and make it better," he added.
"But I know that everyone is working flat out to make it better. “I mean, we know the balance problems but now it’s up to us to try and make the car better to drive and more competitive. I think we are understanding where we need to find stuff. What we see in the wind tunnel, what we see from CFD, that is not the problem.”
