Pierre Gasly will return to the scene of the greatest moment of his career when the Formula 1 World Championship hosts Round 14, the Italian Grand Prix, at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza on the afternoon of Sunday 12 September 2021.
Gasly claimed his one, and thus far only, career F1 race win when he piloted his AlphaTauri-Honda to a surprise victory at the 2020 Italian GP at Monza. It was a sweet vindication of the French driver’s talent, having been ‘dropped’ from the senior Red Bull Racing-Honda team the year prior.

The 25-year-old comes to the Italian GP on the back of a fine performance at the Dutch GP in Zandvoort this past weekend, where he put in a stunning lap to qualify in fourth place and brought his care home in that same position in the race.
“Amazing! P4 behind the two Mercedes and Max, I mean we could not really hope for better. Twelve important points for us and a very good race, I must say. I really enjoyed it – 72 laps on this racetrack, a nice sort of battle with Charles, trying to manage him behind. I really enjoyed it. It’s a nice P4,” said the Frenchman.

Gasly has been an exemplar of consistency for AlphaTauri, with 10 finishes in the points – including a podium at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix – to sit in eighth place on the Drivers’ Championship standings. His rookie teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, has managed just five points finishes by contrast.
“I’m [now] obviously very excited to get back to Monza after last year and obviously the expectations are very high,” added Gasly. “We’ve clearly maximised our package this weekend, so it’ll be interesting to see how it performs next weekend in Italy.”
