Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia will be determined to keep his hopes of winning the
MotoGP world title alive by winning the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
The Italian star was forced to retire from last year's Emilia Romagna MotoGP after he was involved in an accident and he couldn't record points from the race.
Bagnaia secured a podium finish in the most recent race in the 2021 MotoGP World Championship season when he finished third at the Americas MotoGP on October 3.

Honda rider Marc Marquez won the Americas MotoGP, while Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo finished second as he looks to beat Bagnaia to the MotoGP world title.
Quartararo is still placed at the top of the Riders' standings and he is among the favourites to win this year's Emilia Romagna MotoGP title.
While Bagnaia and Suzuki rider Joan Mir are placed second and third respectively on the standings heading into this weekend's highly anticipated race.
Bagnaia will be looking to win the Emilia Romagna MotoGP title in order to close the gap on Quartararo, who is 52 points ahead of him at the moment.

“I talked to Marc and Fabio and they said at Misano they had the problem I did here, so I started with the maximum grip and they didn’t, here it was the other way around," Bagnaia said after the Americas MotoGP
“I started to see the riders ahead were struggling a bit and could see that the podium was there, the last part of the race was not easy but finally we achieved another podium and Fabio opened the points gap.
“This is OK because we lost points at other circuits due to other situations but we’ve been doing well since the summer break, we’ve learned a lot and we have continued this way so this is the perfect job.”
Ducati are placed at the top of Constructors' Championship standings and they are followed by Yamaha and Suzuki respectively.
