2024/25 English Premier League
Matchday 11
Brighton & Hove Albion v Manchester City
American Express Stadium
Brighton and Hove, England
Saturday, 9 November 2024
Kick-off is at 17h30
Manchester City will be determined to bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they face Brighton at the Amex on Saturday, November 11.
The Citizens saw a club-record 32-match unbeaten run in the
Premier League come to an end on November 2 with a 2-1 reverse to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
City were the last team to remain undefeated ahead of the matchday 10 fixtures and they have now traded places with Liverpool once more after dropping back down to second spot.
The Reds climbed back to the summit courtesy of a 2-1 victory over the Seagulls at Anfield on November 2 which took them two points clear of Pep Guardiola's side.
Nottingham Forest and Chelsea moved up to third and fourth positions respectively after Arsenal (5th) dropped yet more points in a 1-0 loss to Newcastle at St James' Park.
Albion fell to eighth in the standings behind Tottenham on goal difference after Spurs battled back from behind to beat Aston Villa 4-1 in the capital on November 3.
Fabian Hurzeler's side had picked up seven points from their previous three outings, but are now looking to avoid going three games without a win.

The hosts are on the verge of welcoming back several players from injury, with Lewis Dunk (calf), Joao Pedro, Matt O'Riley (both ankle), Yankuba Minteh (groin) and Yasin Ayari possibly coming back into contention for the visit of City. Adam Webster, James Milner (both thigh) and Solly March (knee) remain unavailable though.
The visitors continue to be without John Stones (ankle), Ruben Dias (muscular), Rodri (knee), Oscar Bobb (calf) and Jack Grealish, who could return after the international break.
Hurzeler felt Brighton deserved at least a point on Merseyside after claiming they should have added to the lead given to them by Ferdi Kadioglu on 14 minutes.
"It's a disappointing result because I think my team deserved more," he said. "We didn't carry on playing in the second half like we did in the first half.
"First half there are enough chances to make the second goal. It was a tough experience today but if we stick together and learn to find the solutions when the opponent is pressing with more intensity then I am sure the results will come."

Guardiola conceded his players struggled to show the same energy as the Cherries due to a lack of rhythm in his injury-hit team.
"We couldn't match up to the intensity. All the situations with the long balls, we couldn't win it," the Spaniard said.
"And when you don't win these types of balls to [Antoine] Semenyo and others, our central defenders and strikers have to defend deeper.
"We struggled to make our [game], but especially for that. In the game, for many reasons, they were higher than us. We have players with rhythm and the other players have a lack of rhythm because we could not train due to injuries."
