2024/25 Serie A
Matchday 29
Fiorentina v Juventus

Artemio Franchi Stadium
Florence, Italy
Sunday, 16 March 2025
Kick-off is at 17:00

Fiorentina are gunning for a European competition finish and will be targeting a win against a wounded Juventus when the two sides meet at the Artemio Franchi Stadium on Sunday evening, 16 March.

Following a disappointing 2-1 loss against title contenders Napoli in their last match, La Viola are aiming to dust themselves off and continue their bid for European football next season. Coach Raffaele Palladino believes that the team’s enthusiasm will be boosted despite their recent result.

“Nicolo Fagioli is growing day by day, I think he’s a champion, as he has such great technique and football vision. He is raising our level and we needed that,” says Palladino.

“Gudmundsson was sorely missed during the season, unfortunately he was out for so much with injuries. We are getting him back in shape, but we still need to get Folorunsho, Colpani and Adli back too.”

Meanwhile, Juventus were on a five-match winning streak until they faced Atalanta and lost 4-0 in the previous matchday. Although the Old Lady are not in contention for a title, they are very much vying for a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Coach Thiago Motta said it would be difficult to sleep after being hammered by La Dea. "Today we are disappointed and it will be difficult to sleep. Everything can influence us, because we are Juventus,” he said.

“The fans, like the press, have the right to think what they want. "The facts say that we are in this position. This team has an enormous margin for growth. After the first goal we suffered a lot. We are quite disappointed and now we have to start thinking about the next game."

According to Motta, Juve's recent 4-2 penalty loss to Empoli in the Italian Cup quarter-finals was more hurtful than their historic 4+ goal home defeat in Serie A, which hadn't occurred since 1967.

Fiorentina’s Moise Kean will be eager to show his former employers what they are missing out on as the striker has netted 15 goals in the league this season and is playing arguably the best football of his career.

Cagliari striker Roberto Piccoli praised his compatriot Kean and believes he is the best striker in the Serie A at the moment.

“In my opinion, for now, the strongest striker in Serie A is Moise Kean, for all kinds of physical and technical characteristics: speed, physical power, he is something,” he said.
