2024-25 NBA Regular Season
Golden State Warriors v Sacramento Kings
Chase Center
San Francisco, California
Friday 14 March
Tip-off at 04:00
An all-
Western Conference battle awaits on the morning of Friday 14 March when the Golden State Warriors lock horns with the Sacramento Kings at the Chase Center.
The Warriors are on a five-match winning streak and are coming off the back of a morale boosting 130-120 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Jimmy Butler was a standout performer, finishing with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals.
Following the win, Butler made a statement that Warriors fans will definitely love, saying: "You can't get a triple-double without your teammates. That's for damn sure... Triple-double or not, I take these wins as they come."
Butler has also received praise from head coach Steve Kerr. "Now that Jimmy is here, look, Jimmy, is one of the best players in the league. He’s proven it. Soon as he got here, we started winning,” says the coach.
There’s even more positive news for the Warriors as Jonathan Kuminga who has been on the sidelines for two months is set to make his return in the upcoming game against the Sacramento Kings.
“It looks good for Thursday," Kerr said. "Assuming he [Kuminga] doesn’t have any setbacks in the next couple of days, he should be back.”
“We’re going to run through Jimmy Butler, and we’re going to run through Steph Curry," Kerr added. "So what that requires of JK is to be settling into a role to support those guys and that’s slightly different and that’s just something that he has to adapt to.”
The Sacramento Kings have lost their last two, and with the Warriors in such great form, a challenge awaits for them to get back to winning ways.
The Kings are facing a challenging situation after parting ways with former head coach Mike Brown and trading away star point guard De'Aaron Fox in a major shake-up.
Following their loss to the New York Knicks, interim head coach Doug Christie made an admission about how it feels amid a hectic season. "The airplane is in the air but we're fixing it while we're in the air," Christie said.
