Valtteri Bottas has vowed to improve following a tough start to the
2021 Formula One World Championship season.

The Mercedes driver goes into the French Grand Prix in sixth spot on the Drivers' Championship standings following a 12th place finish in Baku.
Bottas has claimed three third-place finishes so far this season but was forced to retire in both Italy and Monaco before limping across the finish line in Azerbaijan, as Mercedes finished outside the points for the first time since the 2018 Austrian Grand Prix.
Teammate and defending world champion Lewis Hamilton finished 15th on a frustrating day out for the Constructor and Bottas has urged his team to move on from what happened in Baku.
"Today [in Baku] in the race I was lacking pace," the Finn told the team website. "I was trying everything I could but something just wasn't right with the car for me this weekend. We need to work hard to figure out why and move on quickly from this."

Mercedes will take confidence from the fact that Hamilton has won both of the last two races held at Circuit Paul Ricard. Bottas came second in the most recent French Grand Prix in 2019.
French Grand Prix, last five winners:
2019: Lewis Hamilton
2018: Lewis Hamilton
2009-2017 (not held)
