2018 FIFA World Cup
Germany v Sweden
Group F
Match Day 2
Sochi, Russia
Saturday, June 23 2018
Kick-off is at 20:00 (CAT)
Germany will want to secure their first full three points when they meet Sweden in Group F in the 2
018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday, June 23 at Fisht Stadium.
Coach Joachim Low was left disappointed to see his men losing 1-0 to Mexico in their opening group stage match last Sunday.
The defending champions will be under pressure to avoid their second loss after firing blanks against a dedicated Mexican outfit.
Sitting at the bottom of the table with zero points from a single match does not bode well for the Europeans as they want to reach the kncokcout stages.
However, they will bank on their run when it comes to head-to-head statistics. Die Mannschaft has 10 wins compared to eight for the Swedes whilst four were drawn.
In contrast, the Swedish side started their opening campaign with a 1-0 win over South Korea and will be targeting their second win on Saturday.
The Blue-Yellow failed to qualify in 2010 in South Africa and for Brazil 2014, but their mission is to ensure they bring back their dignity when it comes to global football.
On the log table, they occupy the joint top spot in the group with three points from their win over Korea Republic on Monday, but facing a wounded Germany will not be easy.
