Federer reached the last eight after eliminating the French duo of Adrian Mannarino and Richard Gasquet, Cameron Norrie of Britain, and Italian star Lorenzo Sonego.

"It's just amazing the difference an indoor and an outdoor situation can do," Federer, who turns 40 next month, said after advancing to the last eight at the All England Club for a record-extending 18th time.
"It was tricky conditions and after the first set I felt I controlled the match better. I couldn't be more excited to be in the quarters. I’m extremely happy. Tricky conditions inside and outside against Lorenzo, always dangerous.
"But I felt like after that first set, I was able to control things. It was a great match. I couldn’t be more excited to be in the quarters. It’s a big moment and I’m very, very happy.”

Meanwhile, Hurkacz reached this stage of the competition after eliminating Lorenzo Musetti of Italy, American player Marcos Giron, Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik, and Russian star Daniil Medvedev.
The 24-year-old will be making his debut appearance in the quarter-final of a Grand Slam singles tournament and he will be hoping to cause an upset against the much-fancied Federer.
This will be the second meeting between Federer and Hurkacz in competitive matches.
Federer defeated Hurkacz 6-4, 6-4 to reach his 12th semi-final in Indian Wells in 2019.
The winner between Federer and Hurkacz will take on either Italian star Matteo Berrettini or Canada's Félix Auger-Aliassime in the Wimbledon semi-finals.
