The Blues are also winless in their last two league matches on the road having registered one draw and one defeat as the visitors.
Team News
Inter are likely to be without the injured trio of Raffaele Di Gennaro, Yann Bisseck and Joaquín Correa, but the club has no suspension worries.
On the other hand, Empoli also do not have any suspension worries, but Saba Sazonov, Pietro Pellegri, Ola Solbakke and Nicolas Haas are all on the club's injury list.
Quotes
"We can't take the field like we did in the first half. I take responsibility for that and for the team's attitude. We have to learn from the defeat," Empoli manager Roberto D'Aversa said after his side's defeat to Lecce.
"Understand that if we play like we did in the second half we can go beyond the limits and fight for the goal, otherwise it's difficult. Unfortunately today in eleven minutes we compromised a game that Lecce deservedly won based on what we saw in the first half.
"We have to be meaner, more determined and more decisive; matches can be lost, but I don't want to see the attitude of the first half again, even if I reiterate that the responsibility is mine alone."
Head-to-Head
Inter thrashed Empoli 3-0 in their last meeting in the league which was on 30 November at the Stadio Carlo Castellani – Computer Gross Arena.
As a result, the Big Grass Snake are undefeated in their last four matches in Serie A against the Blues having registered four consecutive wins.
