Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz
23 November 2019
Defending WBC heavyweight title holder Deontay Wilder is set to face Luis Ortiz in a rematch on November 23.
The two heavyweights squared off at Barclays Center in New York City last year, with Wilder claiming a 10th round TKO victory.
Wilder, who will turn 34 next month, was subsequently held to an epic 12 round draw by Tyson Fury in December before sending Dominic Breazeale to the canvas in just 2:17 earlier this year to defend his belt for the ninth time.
Following his loss to Wilder - the first of his career - 40-year-old Ortiz beat the Romanian duo of Razvan Cojanu and Christian Hammer and America's Travis Kauffman.
Wilder, who won the WBC title four years ago after beating champion Bermane Stiverneby on January 17 2015, has already mapped out his next three fights.
Wilder told ThaBoxingVoice: “After Ortiz, it’d be Fury. Then after Fury, s***, it’d be Ruiz.
“I’m gonna call it into existence, I think Ruiz gonna beat [Anthony] Joshua. And when he do, it’ll be me and him.
“I’m looking for Ortiz, Fury, Ruiz and that’s how I’m willing to go – back to back to back.”
