The clash between
Villarreal and Real Madrid is the headline fixture of the third round of La Liga matches in the 2019/20 season, with 10 matches played across Spain on the weekend of 30 August to 1 September.
Real’s trip to Estadio de la Ceramica on Sunday is set to be a tough one against the Yellow Submarine, while neutrals will hope Villarreal’s home ground produces a game as entertaining and goal-filled as the 4-4 draw between the hosts and Granada from round one.
Champions Barcelona will look for a first away win when they head to Estadio El Sadar to face newly-promoted Osasuna on Saturday. The Blaugrana came from behind to beat Real Betis 5-1 this past weekend and look to have recaptured their best form.
Atletico Madrid, fresh from a 1-0 win at Leganes on the weekend, will play host to Eibar at the Wanda Metropolitano, with manager Diego Simeone hoping to see another solid home performance from the Rojiblancos.
The matchday opens with Sevilla playing host to Celta de Vigo and also features a Basque derby between Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad and Valencia at home to islanders Mallorca at Estadio de Mestalla.
