This will be a rematch of the 2016 Wimbledon final where Williams successfully defended her title, defeating Kerber 7–5, 6–3.
The 36-year-old American is now looking to equal Margaret Court's all-time record of 24 Grand Slam singles titles.
Williams already holds the most Grand Slam titles in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles combined amongst active players.
The six-time Wimbledon champion defeated Arantxa Rus,Viktoriya Tomova, Kristina Mladenovic, Evgeniya Rodina, Camila Giorgi and Julia Gorges on her way to this year's final.
Kerber is set to make her second appearance in the Wimbledon final having made her debut two years ago.
This will be the 30-year-old German's fourth appearance in a Grand Slam final since she made her professional debut in 2007.
Kerber has won two Grand Slams in her career so far - having clinched the U.S Open and Australian Open in 2016.
The Olympic silver medalist eliminated Vera Zvonareva, Claire Liu, Naomi Osaka, Belinda Bencic, Darina Kasatkina and Jelena Ostapenko to reach this year's final.
