The 2022
Japanese Grand Prix is set to take place in Suzuka which is a city in Mie Prefecture, Japan on October 9.
This will be the 18th round of the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship season and it will be held at the Suzuka International Racing Course.
Japan was the only Asian nation to host a Formula One race until Malaysia joined the calendar in 1999 and the Japanese Grand Prix will be taking place for the first time since 2019 this weekend.
The most recent race in the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship season was the Singapore Grand Prix which was won by Red Bull Racing RBPT's Sergio Perez on October 2.

Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr finished second and third respectively in an event that took place at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Perez's teammate Max Verstappen is still at the top of the 2022 Drivers' Championship standings having accumulated 341 points having won 11 races this season.
Leclerc (237 points) and Perez (235 points) are placed second and third respectively in the standings as they look to catch Verstappen.
While Mercedes' George Russell (203 points), Sainz Jr (202 points), and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton (170 points) are placed fourth, fifth and sixth respectively in the table.

"It was very tough out there. Never really got into a rhythm in the wet and then couldn't really challenge with the top two," Sainz Jr said after Singapore Grand Prix.
"The good thing is I didn't do any mistakes. I bought the car home and could be quick towards the end of the race when I built up enough confidence.
"It's a good result for the team and the constructors' championship."
Red Bull Racing-RBPT are placed at the top of the Constructors' Championship standings with 576 points and they are followed by Ferrari with 439 points and Mercedes with 373 points respectively.
