The
Champions League marked its return with a number of high-profile group-stage games that lived up to their billing. With 32 teams from Europe’s biggest in the running for Champions League honours, this season promises to be one of the best yet.
Today, we’re looking at the 10 must watch players under the age of 25. Who will live up to expectations and write their names in European championship folklore.
10. Dominik Szoboszlai
The 20-year old Hungarian talent is Hungary to prove himself on the European stage and make a name for himself. Dominik Szoboszlai made the switch to RB Leipzig from RB Salzburg, a team that is popularly for producing future stars.
Szoboszlai has already caught the eye domestically this season scoring a number of goals for his new club. He’ll be looking to the tally of four goals in the Champions League, which he scored in the group stages of last season for his previous club.
9. Mason Mount
The Englishman has been nothing but sensational for Chelsea, providing consistent performances for the Blues en route to Champions League glory after beating Pep’s Man City 1-0. Not only did he provide the assist for Kai Havertz, but he also played a key role in England’s challenge in the European cup final against Italy.
His partnership with the big Belgian, Romelu Lukaku, will prove to be a telling one this season in the league and Champions League.
8. Jude Bellingham
Jude Bellingham has recently been added to the 2021 Golden Boy shortlist alongside countrymen Mason Greenwood and Bukayo Saka, an award won by the best player under the age of 21 in Europe’s top leagues.
Following his record-setting move from Birmingham City to Borussia Dortmund, Jude Bellingham has continued to rise in reputation, attracting some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Although Dortmund is not expected to challenge for the title, they’re young talented squad is sure to produce classic matches with the best teams in Europe.

Musiala is set to be a massive figure in the Bavarian attack alongside world-class striker Robert Lewandowski.

AC Milan is finally back on the Champions League stage and Sandro Tonali is just one of many young talents on the pitch for the Serie A giants, who are looking to make a successful return to a tournament where they have a rich successful history.
5. Christopher Nkunku
RB Leipzig lost two of their biggest assets over the summer but Nkunku continues to be a bright attacking prospect in the Bundesliga.
Despite suffering a loss to Man City, Nkunku scored a hat-trick, underlining his goal scoring prowess.
4. Eduardo Camavinga
Camavinga is a highly regarded young talent who put pen to paper after signing for Los Blancos from the French club Stade Rennes, a move that looks to be a long term investment.
Although Madrid could not secure the services of Kylian Mbappe, a player of Camavinga’s calibre could attract Mbappe if Madrid can add to their list of growing young talents.
3. Federico Chiesa
The darling of Italian football has recently been dubbed the Serie A MVP following a prolific 2020/21 season for the Old Lady. His goal scoring prowess and skill on the ball is only matched by his tireless work rate off it.
His heroics in the Euros for Italy has set him up for a big season for Juventus, who are looking to return to the summit of domestic and European football.
2. Kylian Mbappe
The France international is undoubtedly one of the most talented and hottest prospects in world football currently. This season is probably one of his best chances to go all the way in the Champions League, with the addition of the greatest player of all time, Lionel Messi, being added to their attack over the summer.
Despite a lot of transfer rumours linking him with Real Madrid, PSG has added world-class players to their roster, which could change his mind about leaving the Parc Des Princes.
1. Erling Haaland
Despite being only 21, the Norwegian has already broke so various records and has scored goals in the Bundesliga and Champions League at astonishing rates. Although Dortmund are not among the favourites to win the competition, Haaland’s stock continues to rise every time he steps on the pitch, attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in the world.
This season, he will look to continue plundering goals and establishing himself as Europe’s most deadliest and most sought-after strikers.
