French Grand Prix
Round 9

Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi will be looking to clinch his fourth
French Grand Prix title on October 11.
The Italian legend has won this race three times and only his compatriot Giacomo Agostini has clinched more titles (five).
Reigning MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez, who is out injured, has also won it three times and Rossi will be keen to capitalize on the former's absence.

The most recent race in the 2020 season was the Catalan Grand Prix which was won by Rossi's teammate Fabian Quartararo.
Suzuki duo of Joan Mir and Alex Rins finished second and third respectively in an entertaining race.
Rossi was forced to retire from the race for the second time in back-to-back races having also retired at the Emilia Romagna and Rimini's Coast Grand Prix.
Quartararo is now placed at the top of the riders' standings and he is followed by Mir and Yamaha rider Maverick Vinales respectively.

Rossi finds himself on the 11th spot on the riders standings and the seven-time MotoGP world champion believes that his chances of winning this season's championship are fading.
“In order not to despair, we have to think that it was a good weekend anyway, that I rode well, that I enjoyed myself and I could play for the win,” Rossi said.
“We are following a very interesting road with the setting of the bike, so even if the championship is closed for me, there are great reasons to be fast from now to the end of the year.
"As long as the math doesn't say it, it's not over. “Unfortunately, I have already made three zeroes and I fell twice in a row due to my mistakes. Then the bike broke down in the first race," he added.
"So it's difficult. But there are still many races and we will have to try to be fast, if I can ride like this, I can go fast on all sides.”
Yamaha are sitting at the top of the Manufacturers' Championship standings with 163 points.
Ducati and Suzuki are placed second and third with 126 and 113 points respectively on the standings.
