2019-20 Premier League
Round 11, 2-3 November 2019

Manchester City will look to continue their dominance over Southampton when the teams meet in a Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 2 November 2019, kick-off at 17:00 CAT. The match is one of 10 across England’s top flight this coming weekend.
City eased to a 3-0 win over Aston Villa in their last outing, though they suffered further defensive problems when makeshift centre-back Fernandinho was sent off, leaving manager Pep Guardiola short of options for the position.
"I wish we had [the injured Aymeric] Laporte and everyone else come back," Guardiola said. "I hate one word which is 'complain'. Normally when I say something not nice it is always after a victory, never have I said it after a defeat.
“We were punished in some defeats and I shut my mouth. I would prefer to be all together. We have Academy [players], other solutions," he added.

Southampton, meanwhile, are still reeling after they suffered a 9-0 home loss against Leicester City last Friday – equalling the record for the heaviest defeat in Premier League history (Ipswich lost 9-0 at Manchester United in 1995).
“I take 100 percent responsibility for the result [on Friday], it was a no performance from my team and this cannot happen in this way,” explained Saints boss Ralph Hassenhuttl, who was given the dreaded ‘backing of the board’ after calls for him to lose his job.
The Austrian added, “We must look on the players and how we stand up again. [It is] Not easy [to recover] but we have to stand up again and show a different face.”
In head-to-head stats, Man City and Southampton have met in 67 previous matches. The Citizens have claimed 27 wins compared to 22 for the Saints, while 18 games have been draw.
The teams’ Premier League matches last season saw City completed a league ‘double’, with a 6-1 win at the Etihad Stadium in November 2018, followed by a 3-1 win at St Mary’s in December of the same year. The Manchester club has won their last five matches against Southampton.
