Patton Kizzire will be hoping to become the second golfer after Viktor Hovland to win the
World Wide Technology Championship twice.
What to know about Kizzire
The American star is a veteran golfer who turned professional in 2008 which was a year after he was crowned champion at the SEC Championship.
Kizzire has won six professional tournaments to date including three events that are part of the PGA Tour and two Web.com Tour competitions.
Latest news
The last time the experienced golfer was in action in a professional tournament was at the 2024 Shriners Children's Open in October and he missed the cut.
Kizzire is currently placed 98th on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), and his best overall ranking is 51st.
Why Kizzire is one of the favourites
The former Auburn University student will be returning to Mexico where he won his first PGA Tour title at the 2017 World Wide Technology Championship.
Kizzire showed what he is capable of in the current 2024 PGA Tour season when he won the Procore Championship in September - his first win since 2018.
What did he say
“I’m going to enjoy this win. It’s just so sweet to get through the ups and downs. That’s life. You just got to stay positive. That’s what led me to here, to right now," Kizzire said after winning the Procore Championship.
“I knew that it would be difficult not to get ahead of myself with a four-shot lead heading into today.
“I wrote down in my yard book, ‘I am here, I am now.’ Kept going back to that. That helped me be disciplined and stay present. That’s what really helped me come out on top.”
