Luke Donald will be among the favourites to win the
Nedbank Golf Challenge having enjoyed some success on the European Tour.
The English star is one of two golfers to achieve the world number one ranking without winning a major, the other being three-time Nedbank Golf Challenge winner Lee Westwood.
Donald became the number one golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking after winning the 2011 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club.
The 44-year-old has won seven tournaments on the European Tour including the BMW PGA Championship in 2011 and 2012.
The year 2004 proved to be Donald's breakthrough season as a professional as he won the Scandinavian Masters and Omega European Masters.
However, 2011 was Donald's best year as a golfer - winning the Barclays Scottish Open, BMW PGA Championship and WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.
Donald was recently announced as the captain of the European Ryder Cup team for the 2023 matches in Italy, replacing Henrik Stenson.

“I’m delighted to be able to play the Nedbank Golf Challenge in this landmark year for the event," Donald, who will tee off at the Gary Player Country Club for the first time since December 2014, said.
"It’s such a unique tournament and I have fond memories of my past visits to Sun City. It certainly doesn’t seem like eight years since I last teed it up there,
"And I’m very much looking forward to returning, both as a player and in my capacity as Ryder Cup captain, as the season draws to a close.”
Lee Westwood, Ernie Els, Nick Price and David Frost have won the Nedbank Golf Challenge which was formerly known as the Million Dollar Challenge record three times.
