Dustin Johnson will be looking to clinch his maiden Masters Tournament title when he competes at Augusta National Golf Club this week.

The American star is the number one ranked golfer in the world and has been at the forefront of major championships in recent years, but only boasts one major to his name. Johnson won the US Open in 2016 after finishing three shots clear of Jim Furyk, Shane Lowry and Scott Piercy.

Johnson was recently voted the 2020 PGA Tour Player of the Year for the second time in his career.

The 36-year-old has won The Northern Trust, Tour Championship, Travelers Championship and the $15 million FedEx Cup this year.

Johnson has now set his sights on the Masters' title as he looks to clinch his second major championship.

His best performance at the Masters came in 2019 when he battled with Tiger Woods, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka for the title.

Ultimately, Woods clinched the green jacket after finishing 13 under par to win by one stroke over Johnson, Schauffele and Koepka.

Johnson, who recently recovered from the coronavirus, is looking forward to competing in this year's Masters.

"I know I'm playing next week at the Masters. I'm nervous for sure," Johnson said in the Providence Journal.

"If he had to wait for the test results before setting foot on Augusta National. I had no idea where I got it [the coronavirus] from.

"I thought about it and tried to figure it out. I had every person that I had been around ... every single one of them got tests," he added.

"Not one person had it. The only thing I can figure is I got it in Vegas. I don't even know how I got it there."

Last five Masters Tournament winners:

2015 - Jordan Spieth - USA
2016 - Danny Willett - England
2017 - Sergio Garcia - Spain
