2019/20 Premier League
Round 15
3-5 December 2019
The latest edition of the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton at Anfield on Wednesday 4 December 2019 (kick-off at 20:15) headlines the ‘midweek mania’ in England’s top flight. The match is one of 10 spread from 3-5 December in the 15th round of the current Premier League season.
Liverpool come into the game on the back of a 2-1 home win over Brighton & Hove Albion this past weekend, a result which extended their unbeaten run in the league to 31 matches and saw them retain an eight-point lead over second-placed Leicester City.
“In the end, it kept it a bit interesting but it’s only important that we won the game and that’s what we did, so I am really pleased about that. I am very, very happy about the effort the boys put in again, I’m really happy and proud about the desire the boys showed,” said manager Jurgen Klopp, whose team are in the midst of an incredible busy period in which they will play at least nine matches (including this midweek) before the end of the month.
Everton, meanwhile, fell to a 2-1 loss away to Leicester City on Sunday which leaves them just two points and one position above the relegation zone.

Manager Marco Silva is under huge pressure and could be relieved of his duties by the time of the clash against Liverpool, but insists that the Toffees remain resolute in their approach: "Nobody can say anything about their commitment, about their attitude or about their ambition for this game - it was clear," he told reporters.
He added, “"It is our obligation as a club to (go with belief to Anfield). We know they are in good moment, but everything today and last season should give us confidence."
In head-to-head stats, Liverpool and Everton have met in 192 previous matches. The Reds have claimed 76 wins compared to 52 for the Toffees, while 64 games have been drawn.
Liverpool took four points off Everton in the teams’ two Premier League meetings last season, winning 1-0 at Anfield in December 2018 before a 0-0 draw in the return game at Goodison Park in March 2019. The Toffees have not claimed a win over their derby rivals since October 2010.
