2021/22 English Premier League

Matchday 37

Everton v Brentford

Goodison Park
Liverpool, England
Sunday, 15 May 2022
Kick-off is at 16h30

Everton will be targeting three successive Premier League wins for the first time this season when Brentford arrive at Goodison Park on Sunday, May 15.

The Toffees have given themselves hope of staying up after recording back-to-back victories over Chelsea and Leicester to climb out of the relegation zone.

Frank Lampard's side beat the Foxes 2-1 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday to leapfrog Leeds and Burnley into 16th place, one point clear of the bottom three.

The Merseysiders take on Watford in a catch-up fixture on Wednesday and Lampard was keen to stress that they are still in a relegation scrap despite a "huge" result in the East Midlands.

"I'm proud with how the players reacted to conceding. They kept going. They were excellent. I think we're building confidence," he said.

"We should enjoy results like that. They're huge. But by the time we get home tonight, we have to move our minds onto Watford and the games that are coming. We are by no means safe yet. It's far from done."

The Bees bounced back from a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Manchester United with a resounding 3-0 win over Southampton at the weekend.

The west Londoners have already secured their top-flight status for a second season, although they will be pushing for a top-10 finish to cap off what has been a fine debut showing in the Premier League.

Christian Eriksen delivered another superb performance and his name was ringing out in the stands as the home fans begged the Danish midfielder to extend his stay at the club next term.

Thomas Frank remains hopeful of hanging onto his compatriot, saying: "He is very happy here, very pleased. He's loved being here, he is enjoying his football and will hopefully take a positive decision to stay with us."
