Fabio Quartararo will be determined to keep his defence of the MotoGP world title on track by winning the
French Grand Prix on May 15.
The Yamaha rider finished second in last year's French MotoGP as the Ducati duo of Jack Miller and Johann Zarco finished ahead of him.
Quartararo came close to recording his second win of the current 2022 MotoGP season when he finished second at the recent Spanish MotoGP on May 1.

Prior to that race, the French star had won the Portuguese MotoGP on April 24 and it looks like he is rediscovering the form which saw him win the 2021 MotoGP world title.
The 2022 Spanish MotoGP was won by Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati with Aleix Espargaró of Aprilia finishing third at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto.
Quartararo is placed at the top of the 2022 riders' standings and he is followed by Espargaró and Enea Bastianini of Ducati.
The 23-year-old will open a gap at the top of the standings if wins the highly anticipated French MotoGP on his home soil.

“I was already surprised to be leading the championship last week [after Portugal], because apart from Mandalika (Indonesia MotoGP), it was… I would not say a disaster," Quartararo said after the 2022 Spanish MotoGP.
"but my position was seventh, eighth, ninth, second, then, of course, the victory [in Portugal]. In the end, we always finish in the top 10 and these kinds of races where you need to give your best to take three, four, or five points more than what you need, it makes these points super important.
“But, to be honest, I’m riding to the limit and have no more in every moment. But it’s true the other Yamahas are struggling quite a lot, but in the end, this is not my problem. “I have enough already to think about being fast with our bike. So, I’m looking after myself.”
Ducati are placed at the top of the Manufacturers' Championship standings and they are followed by Yamaha and Aprilia respectively.
