Djokovic, who is an aggressive baseline player, eliminated Matteo Berrettini in the quarter-finals of the 2021 Roland Garros before taking on Rafal Nadal in the semi-finals.
The man nicknamed the Serbinator defeated Nadal in four brutal sets, only the second time he had beaten the King of Clay at Roland Garros, before overcoming Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.
The Serbinator reached the twelfth final of his career at the Italian Open last weekend after defeating Casper Ruud in the semi-finals for his 1000th career win.
Djokovic became only the fifth man in the Open Era to reach this milestone and in the final, he defeated Tsitsipas to win his sixth Italian Open and 38th Masters title.
The 34-year-old has stated that it 'couldn't be a better time to head to the Roland Garros' with a title after lifting the 2022 Italian Open.
"I've been building my form for the last couple of weeks and like the previous years I knew that my best shape on the clay is usually coming around Rome time," Djokovic said.
"So it couldn't be a better time coming into Roland Garros with a title."
Prize money for the 2022 Roland Garros will total €43.6 million. The men's and women's singles champions in Paris will each receive €2.2 million.
