The
German Bundesliga has become the first of the top leagues in Europe to resume when teams took to the field this past weekend.
Bayern Munich currently lead the way in Germany's top-flight with the defending champions currently four points clear of second placed Borussia Dortmund with nine games of the 2019/20 league season remaining.
In celebration of football's return, we take a look at contenders for the goal of the season, starting with the five best goals in the Bundesliga so far:
Javairo Dilrosun
(Hertha Berlin versus SC Paderborn) - September 2019
The Dutch youngster's solo effort sparked a run of three goals in three games. The 21-year-old received the ball on the left touchline before cutting in field and embarking on a weaving run which took him past six players on his way to netting a superb goal.
Robin Quaison
(FSV Mainz 05 vs FC Koln) - October 2019
The Sweden international has scored two hat-tricks this season, but his best goal came in the club's 3-1 win over FC Koln last year. The striker, who has scored 12 goals in 24 Bundesliga games this season, took two touches before unleashing a right-footed thunderbolt that rocked Opel Arena.
Florian Neuhaus
(Borussia Mönchengladbach vs FSV Mainz 05) - January 2020
The German midfielder kick-started the new season in superb style with a stunning long range effort. The Mainz goalkeeper's attempted clearance fell at the feet of the Mönchengladbach star who swivelled to his right before launching an audacious lob into the back of the net from way out!

Emre Can
(Bayer 04 Leverkusen versus Borussia Dortmund) - February 2020
Can marked his Bundesliga return with a stunning strike in Dortmund's 4-3 loss away to Bayer Leverkusen earlier this year. His club might have lost the battle, but his strike caught the eye: Can rolled the ball forward before curling an unstoppable shot into the corner of the net from range as he announced himself to the Dortmund faithful in fine style.
Thorgan Hazard
(Borussia Mönchengladbach versus Borussia Dortmund) - March 2020
Is there a better way to announce your return to your former club than finding the back of the net? That is exactly what the Belgium international did on his first trip back to Mönchengladbach as a Dortmund player - and he did so in some style too! Hazard raced into the area before cutting back onto his left foot and guiding a first time shot into the corner of the net from an acute angle as the visitors claimed all three points.
