Max Verstappen out to continue his consistency

2019 Formula 1 season, Round 7

Canadian Grand Prix

Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal

Sunday 9 June 2019

Max Verstappen will look to continue his consistency in the 2019 Formula 1 season when Round 7, the Canadian Grand Prix, is held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal on Sunday 9 June.

Verstappen came home in fourth place at the Monaco GP last month, continuing a run which has seen him finish in either P3 or P4 throughout the 2019 campaign.

Max Verstappen has dropped to fourth on the Drivers’ Championship standings.

Yet, despite his consistency and growing maturity, the Dutchman was knocked off third spot in the Drivers’ Championship standings, with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel leapfrogging him thanks to a second-place finish in Monte Carlo.

Yet the Red Bull Racing-Honda driver will not be discouraged and can look forward to another challenging street circuit, and one where he has performed strongly in the past.

In the 2018 Canadian GP, Verstappen finished in an impressive third place, outpacing both then teammate Daniel Ricciardo, Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen in a Ferrari.

Verstappen will aim for a strong showing in Canada

This time around, with Mercedes likely to continue their dominance, Verstappen will aim to take the ‘best of the rest’ slot and pick up a third podium finish of the season.
