Ferrari's Carlos Sainz will be looking for his first podium finish in the Bahrain
Grand Prix when the 2022 Formula One World Championship season begins on Sunday, March 20.
The 27-year-old completed the race at the Bahrain International Circuit for the first time in 2018, having been forced to retire in each of the three previous years.

Sainz has steadily improved since making his F1 debut in 2015 and finished fifth in the drivers' standings last year, one place higher than 2020 and 2019.
The Spaniard's next target will undoubtedly be to record a first GP victory, having finished on the podium six times and taking second place in the 2020 Italian Grand Prix and the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix.

Sainz was encouraged by Ferrari's reliability during the pre-season testing in Bahrain and believes they are in good shape ahead of the season opener.
"On reliability so far, I think we've got it really right to be able to run all the six days of testing without creating a red flag, without having a single issue on track," he said.
"I think this is the priority number one that has allowed us to complete our test programme, and arrive to the first race as ready as we can be."
