Burnley will aim for a season ‘double’ over Arsenal when the teams meet in a
Premier League clash at Turf Moor on Saturday 6 March, kick-off at 12:30. The match is one of 10 for Round 27 of England’s top flight, spread from Saturday 6 to Monday 8 March 2021.
Burnley have gone through a lean run of form in recent times and a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur this past weekend has left them relatively close to the relegation zone, with manager Sean Dyche explaining that the relentless schedule has hit his small squad hard.

“I don't want to present it as footballers are moaning just because they can't go out for dinner, no one can go out for dinner," Dyche said. "But not everybody has the pressures of the Premier League, not everyone has the constant pressure of the game schedule. They are human beings and they need a break. Everyone needs a break from their work lives. It has been tougher for that reason. It has had some effect on all of us - and equally it does on players.”
Arsenal, meanwhile, boosted their hopes of a top-six finish by beating Leicester City 3-1 away from home in their last outing. Manager Mikel Arteta feels that his side is gradually finding their identity, with this clash representing a chance for them to really make a statement of intent.
“I am really proud of the team and the character that we showed,” said the Spanish manager. “The senior players are the ones who have to drive the boat forward and the young players can add something, but it can’t be the other way around. They have to take that leadership and be accountable when they are in the team.”

In head-to-head stats, Burnley and Arsenal have met in 110 matches across all competitions since 1896. The Gunners have claimed 54 wins compared to 34 for the Clarets, while 22 games have been drawn.
When the teams met earlier this season, at the Emirates Stadium in December 2020, Burnley claimed a 1-0 away win thanks to an own goal from Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
