Jabeur, on the other hand, has matched her best record in the French Open by reaching the quarter-finals for the second time in her career.

The Tunisian star was the runner-up at Wimbledon in 2022 and 2023 and at the US Open in 2022, becoming the first African and Arab woman to contest a major singles final.

What was said

“She’s an extraordinary player,” Jabeur said about facing Gauff in the quarter-finals.

“Since she was young she played very well, and then she won the US Open last year. She is very tough on the clay, it’s going to be an exceptional match between us.”
