The 2024 German MotoGP is scheduled to be staged in a town in the Zwickau rural district, Saxony, Germany, called Hohenstein-Ernstthal on 7 July.
What to know about the German MotoGP
The race is also known as the Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, having been established in 1925 before becoming part of FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing in 1952.
It is held at the Sachsenring, which has staged FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing events since 1961 and it will host the German MotoGP until at least 2026.

The Dutch TT, which was the eighth round of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship calendar, took place on 30 June.
The race was won by Francesco Bagnaia, who was followed by his Ducati teammates Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini, who finished second and third respectively.
Standings
Martin is still placed at the top of the 2024 MotoGP riders' standings followed by Bagnaia and Ducati's Marc Marquez respectively.
Looking at the constructors' standings, Ducati, who won the 2023 title, are placed at the top - followed by Aprilia and KTM respectively as the battle for the 2024 trophy continues.
Favourites
Bagnaia, Martin and Bastianini will be the favourites to win the German MotoGP due to their scintillating form in the last few weeks.
However, Marc Marquez, who has won 11 German MotoGP races including Moto2 and 125cc, is another rider to keep an eye on at the Sachsenring.

“I gave one hundred per cent during the race," Aprilia rider Maverick Vinales said after finishing fifth at the 2024 Dutch TT which sees him placed fifth in the riders' standings.
"I am obviously pleased, but not entirely satisfied because the level we are demonstrating is truly high. The bike moved around a lot and that made direction changes difficult.
"Despite this, I think that the RS-GP24 is competitive.”
