Previous round

Sinner got the better of Germany's Yannick Hanfmann 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 despite dropping a set while also faltering on the first serve on 1 July.

Berrettini won against Hungarian Marton Fucsovics 7-6 (3), 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 on 1 July to reach the second round of Wimbledon.

Wimbledon record

Sinner will be eager to go one step further and reach the Wimbledon final having been eliminated in the 2023 semi-finals which remains his best performance in the tournament.

The 22-year-old is the current world number one having won 14 singles titles on the ATP Tour, including a Grand Slam title at the 2024 Australian Open.

Berrettini reached the 2021 Wimbledon where he lost to Novak Djokovic and he will be determined to go all the way this year and win the tournament.

The 28-year-old has won eight ATP Tour singles titles and two doubles titles, and produced his best major performance by reaching the singles final of the Wimbledon once.

What was said

“That’s a tough match, that’s for sure,” Sinner said about facing Berrettini in the second round of Wimbledon.

“He played a final here, he knows very well how to play on this surface so it’s a big challenge for me. But I’m looking forward to it. Every day is different. Let’s see what’s coming.”

Head-to-Head record

Sinner and Berrettini have met once across all professional tournaments.

Sinner beat Berrettini 6-4, 6-3 in the 2023 Toronto Masters.
