Japan U23 will battle it out with New Zealand U23 in the
2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Football Tournament quarter-final match on July 31.
The Young Samurai Blue eased into the knockout phase after dominating Group A which included South Africa, Mexico, and France.
They finished at the top of the group having accumulated nine points from three matches - winning all of their matches.
Japan wrapped up their Group A campaign with an impressive 4-0 victory over France in a game which was played on July 28.
Meanwhile, New Zealand secured their place in the knockout phase after finishing second in Group B which included South Korea, Romania, and Honduras.
The OlyWhites collected four points from three matches - winning one game, losing one and drawing one and it was enough to send them to the last eight.

They ended their Group B campaign with a 0-0 draw with Romania in a match that was played on July 28.
New Zealand made history tonight by reaching the quarter-finals for the first time and their coach Danny Hay is looking forward to facing Japan.
“It really came down to desire tonight and the boys really dug in and showed a lot of that," Hay said.
“I’m really proud of the performance. It’s historic and we look forward to a quarter-final for a New Zealand men’s team."
This will be the first-ever meeting between Japan and New Zealand at the Olympic Games.
