San Antonio Spurs v Chicago Bulls
2021-22 NBA Regular Season
Saturday 29 January 2022
AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas
Tip-off at 01:30
The San Antonio Spurs and the Chicago Bulls will have a Texas showdown in the NBA Regular Season, set for the AT&T Center in San Antonio on the morning of Saturday 29 January 2022. Tip-off is at 01:30.
The Spurs find themselves in the lower reaches of the Western Conference after a tough campaign in 2021-22. Their main aim for the rest of the season will be to ensure they finish above the likes of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans.

This past weekend saw San Antonio handed a heavy 117-102 defeat at home by the Brooklyn Nets, despite Dejounte Murray's ninth triple-double of the season. Murray had 25 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for his second straight triple-double and 13th of his career, one shy of David Robinson's franchise record.
However, the Spurs missed 34 shots in the paint. "That's an inordinate number of misses in the paint," coach Gregg Popovich said. "That's pretty tough to do. And if you combine that with 27% shooting from 3, you are going to have a problem because obviously James and Kyrie are tough to handle and they did what they are supposed to do, and they got us."
The Bulls, meanwhile, are one of the major contenders in the Eastern Conference, though this past weekend they were outclassed 94-90 by the defending champions, Milwaukee Bucks.
Chicago coach Billy Donovan was more frustrated about the hard foul on Chicago's Alex Caruso midway through the third quarter that resulted in Grayson Allen being ejected: "For Alex to be in the air like that and for (Allen) to take him down like that, he could have ended his career.”
In head-to-head stats, the Spurs and the Bulls have met in 92 Regular Season games since 1976-77, with San Antonio claiming 57 wins compared to 35 for Chicago. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in March 2021, with the Spurs winning 120-104 at home thanks to 20 points from Jakob Poetl and 17 from DeMar DeRozan, who is now a Bulls player.
