The Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks will have a heavyweight
NBA Regular Season bout at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on the morning of Saturday 8 January 2022. Tip-off is at 00:30.
The Nets continue to be one of the pace-setting teams in the Eastern Conference, though this past weekend saw them beaten 110-102 at home by the Philadelphia 76ers – despite the return of key man Kevin Durant, who racked up 33 points but was outplayed by the 34 of opponent Joel Embiid.

"If you've been watching Joel and I play against each other, it's been like that every game, even the All-Star Game," Durant said. "We just respect each other so much that that natural competitive fire I guess comes out. So it's the name of the game."
The Bucks are right up there with the Nets in terms of the Eastern Conference standings, though their record is not quite as emphatic as their opponents – having played a few more games. This past weekend they continued to build momentum with a 136-118 beating of the Orlando Magic, in which Giannis Antetokounmpo racked up 33 points.

"For sure, we have a complete team — great guys, great teammates and great talent — and the more we play together, the better we will get," Antetokounmpo said. "The sky is the limit for this team, but we've got to stay humble and stay hungry."
"To play off those three — Jrue [Holiday], Khris [Middleton[ and Giannis, we're very fortunate to have enough to win on the road," Milwaukee coach Mike Budenholzer added.
In head-to-head stats, the Nets and the Bucks have met in 180 Regular Season games since 1976-77, with Milwaukee claiming 105 wins compared to 75 for Brooklyn. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in October 2021, with the Bucks claiming a 127-104 home victory thanks to 32 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo.
