The Brooklyn Nets will look to school visitors Miami Heat when the teams meet in a 2020-21 NBA Regular Season game at the Barclays Center in New York on the morning of 24 January 2021, with tip-off at 02:30 CAT.

The Nets come into the match on a run of decent form, but all the buzz for the Brooklyn franchise is about the arrival of James Harden. The 31-year-old guard put in a storming performance on debut against the Orlando Magic this past weekend, posting a 30-point triple-double.

"Basically no practice time, and [Harden] figured it out on the fly," said Nets coach Steve Nash. "He had a bunch of turnovers just because he's new to the team and the group and you’re thrown out there in an NBA where the other team is an excellent-coached basketball team. . . . But all the things he did on the floor were incredible for his first game."

The Heat, meanwhile, look far short of the team which sent all the way to the finals last season and the pressure is growing on promising player Tyler Herro to step up and become a key man for Miami.

“I’ve got to be better,” Herro said last weekend. “It’s all on me, it’s not on anybody else.”

However, coach Erik Spoelstra is hoping the 20-year-old goes easy on himself and just continues to add experience to his incredible all-round talent: "Coming in as a teenager [last season] and just having that skill level to be able to finish at the rim, to be able to hit the mid-range pull-up and extend beyond the three, that’s unique in itself,” said Spoelstra.

In head-to-head terms, the Nets and the Heat have met in 126 Regular Season games since 1988-89. Miami have claimed 74 wins compared to 52 for Brooklyn.

The teams met three times in the Regular Season in 2019-20, with the Heat claiming two wins – the most recent of which was 116-113 in February 2020, with Miami's Kendrick Nunn racking up 21 points.
