While achieving a sustained spell of success over a five year period is difficult enough, the following two players enjoyed success throughout their distinguished careers and not only at one club, but several clubs over the course of their respective professional football careers.
Lionel Messi will by all accounts have won the most trophies at a single club and possibly ever once the Barcelona star decides to eventually call time on his career, but not even he has won as much as Dani Alves or Hossam Hassan.
Cumulatively, Alves and Hassan have won 81 trophies for club and country between them while claiming league honours on three different continents.
Betway takes a deeper look at two men who are the only two individuals in football history to reach the 40 trophy mark:
Dani Alves (40 trophies)
The Brazilian right-back won his 40th and most recent trophy as captain of Brazil. Alves, who now plies his trade for Sao Paulo, led the South American's to the 2019 Copa America on home soil.
Alves started his career in Bahia before moving to Sevilla, Barcelona, Juventus and eventually ending his European journey at Paris Saint-Germain. The 36-year-old's most successful years came as part of Barcelona where he won 23 trophies alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta who are both also amongst the 10 most decorated footballers ever.
Following his success in Spain with both Sevilla and Barcelona, Alves won two more trophies as part of a very successful Juventus team before adding six more trophies to his collection while on the books of French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Hossam Hassan (41 trophies)
The former Egypt international, who's twin brother Ibrahim won 37 trophies during the course of his career, is the world's most decorated player in terms of trophies won to date.
Hossam Hassan enjoyed unrivalled success in Egypt where he played for both Al Ahly and Zamalek while he was also part of a Pharaohs side that dominated African football.
In total, the now 53-year-old who enjoyed brief spells in Greece, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates, won 25 of his 41 trophies while on the books of Egyptian giants Al Ahly, including an incredible 11 league titles between 1984 and 2000.
He also also amongst the highest capped international players in the history of the game having been a mainstay of the Egyptian frontline for two decades.
