Quotes

"The temptation at that moment was to take off a striker, to put in a defender, but I didn't do it," Milan manager Sergio Conceicao said after his side's win over Empoli.

"I moved (Yunus) Musah to the right and put (Kyle) Walker in central defence and Joao Felix a bit deeper. A draw here is like a defeat for Milan, so I had to take the gamble.

"With all due respect for Empoli's aggressive nature and direct approach, we were the better team throughout and picked up three important points."

Head-to-Head

Milan secured a 1-0 win over Verona in their last meeting in the league which was on 20 December at Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.

As a result, Rossoneri are undefeated in their last 12 matches in Serie A against the Yellow and Blues having registered two draws and 10 wins.
