Viktor Hovland will be eager to become the first Norwegian golfer to win the
AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am since the event's inception in 1937.
What to know about Hovland
The Oslo-born golfer won the 2018 US Amateur and reached number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in 2019 before turning professional in the same year.
Hovland is the reigning FedExCup champion and he has won 10 professional tournaments including two World Wide Technology Championships.
News
The 2023 PGA Tour FedEx Cup winner took part in the 2024 Sentry Tournament of Championships and he finished 22nd before taking a mini-break from competitive golf.
Hovland is placed fourth on the Official World Golf Rankings and his best OWGR ranking is third place.
Why Hovland is among the favourites
This is the 26-year-old second straight appearance at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he finished 13th last season.
Hovland won the 2018 US Amateur at Pebble Beach and then was a low amateur at the 2019 US Open here which makes him one of the favourites to win this weekend's event.
