2019/20 Premier League
Round 26, part I
8-9 February 2020
Sheffield United’s excellent campaign thus far will be put to the test by a resurgent Bournemouth when the teams meet at Bramall Lane on Sunday 9 February 2020, kick-off at 16:00. The match is one of four spread from 8 to 9 February as part of the 26
th round of the
2019/20 Premier League season.
Sheffield continued their outstanding season with a 1-0 win away to Crystal Palace last weekend, a result which sees them placed sixth on the table – just five points off a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
“We're in a great place as a football club,” explained manager Chris Wilder. “With the quality we've signed, the results we're getting and the performances we're getting — even when we're not at our best. But the key is to not pat yourself on the back. A lot of good things are happening at the football club but we've got to keep going on to the next challenge.”

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have won their last two Premier League matches on the bounce. Last weekend goals from Philip Billing and Nathan Ake handed them a crucial 2-1 victory at home to Aston Villa which lifted them two points clear of the relegation zone.
“We have shown we are still alive and kicking and we have points to prove,” said manager Eddie Howe. “We have a long, long way to go before we can say we have done anything. There are some tough games to come, nothing is decided today. It’s just we are in there fighting and showing we want to be in the Premier League.”
In head-to-head stats, Sheffield and Bournemouth have met in 16 previous matches. The Blades have claimed 10 wins compared to one for the Cherries, while five games have been drawn.
When the teams met in the Premier League earlier this season, at the Vitality Stadium in August 2019, they played out a 1-1 draw: Chris Mepham put Bournemouth ahead, before Billy Sharp netted a late equaliser for Sheffield.
