Villarreal CF will take on Valencia CF in a Spanish La Liga match at their temporary home ground, Estadio Ciudad de Valencia on December 31.
The Yellow Submarine secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over RCD Espanyol away in their previous league game which was played on November 9.
Therefore, Villarreal bounced back to winning ways in this competition, having failed to win two successive matches before facing Espanyol.

The Yellow Submarine lost to Real Mallorca in their last home game in La Liga and the defeat ended their four-match unbeaten run as the hosts.
Meanwhile, Valencia claimed a well-deserved 3-0 win over Real Betis at home in their previous league game which was played on November 10.

"I used to come home almost crying because I couldn't be at 100%. After these months that I've had a bad time, I can train and play comfortably."
The last league meeting between Villarreal and Valencia was on 19 April 2022.
Villarreal emerged as 2-0 winners over Valencia in a match that took place at Estadio de la Cerámica, formerly and informally called El Madrigal.
