The Cityzens slumped to a 5-2 loss at home to Leicester City last weekend. Pep Guardiola's team opened the scoring but were blown away by the Foxes after the break as a team coached by the Spaniard conceded five goals for the first time.

City beat Wolves 3-1 in their only other game of the season and despite the early setback, Guardiola is confident his team will bounce back.

"We played for 30 minutes so good – we scored a goal in [the fourth] minute,” said Guardiola. “But then we started to believe we were not playing good when it was the opposite."

"We are not strong enough to be stable and patient. We started to think we were playing bad. We told them at half-time they were playing good, try to be patient and the rest will be in our hands.”

For the fans

“We have to accept it,” he added. “But it’s still only the second game."

Benfica's Ruben Dias has duly arrived at Etihad Stadium as City continue to bolster their defence in an attempt to solve a recurring problem.

There were no such problems for Leeds who defeated Sheffield United 1-0 thanks to a solitary strike from Patrick Bamford last weekend. The Whites lost 4-3 away to Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season before bouncing back with a 4-3 win of their own over Fulham.

The most recent Premier League meeting between the two teams came 16 years ago when a penalty from Mark Viduka spearheaded Leeds to a 2-1 win over City at Elland Road. The Cityzens won the most recent clash in all competitions, dispatching Leeds 4-0 in a FA Cup tie in 2013 -- Sergio Aguero netted a brace.
