Roger Federer will go in search of his first US Open title in 11 years when he competes at the 2019 edition at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York from 26 August to 8 September.
Federer is a five-time champion at Flushing Meadows, though his last triumph in New York was way back in 2008.
The Swiss master got as far as the fourth round in 2018 before he was beaten in four sets by Australian John Millman.
This year he will chase a sixth US Open title – a feat no other male player has managed in the Open era. Currently Federer is level with Jimmy Connors and Pete Sampras on five titles, while Willam Larned, Richard Sears and Bill Tilden each managed seven in the amateur era.
His main rivals for the title will be fellow veterans Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, while the likes of Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev will also look to make their mark at the final Grand Slam of the calendar year.
