Empoli FC will take on Inter Milan in an
Italian Serie A match at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on April 23.
Current Form
The Blues succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to US Cremonese away on April 14 and they are winless in two matches in the league.
Empoli defeated US Lecce in their last home game and the win ended their four-match winless run at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
While Inter suffered a 1-0 loss to AC Monza as they extended their winless run to five matches in Serie A.
The Big Grass Snake are also winless in their last four matches on the road having registered two successive defeats and two draws as the visitors.
What Is At Stake
Empoli are keen to retain their status in the Serie A and they are currently placed 14th on the league standings - nine points above the relegation zone.
The Blues will be keen to secure a win over Inter in order to move further away from the relegation zone, but the Big Grass Snake are desperate to snap their winless run.
Inter are placed fifth on the standings - two points behind fourth-placed AC Milan and they could move into the top four with a win over Empoli.
Team News
Empoli will be without three players as Guglielmo Vicario, Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro and Ardian Ismajli are nursing injuries, and the club has no suspension concerns.
Meanwhile, Inter also do not have suspension worries, but Dalbert, Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Fontanarosa and Stefan de Vrij are all on the club's injury-list.

Tommaso Baldanzi is the Empoli player to watch out for as the Italian forward has scored more league goals (four) than any other Blues player this season
The Blues will be wary of dangerous attacker Lautaro Martinez who has netted 14 goals this season and he is in the race for the Serie A Golden Boot award.

“It's not true that we don't care about Serie A and only want to raise our game in the cup competitions," Inter manager Simone Inzaghi said after their defeat to Monza.
"We really wanted to win and this negative result slows down our progress in the league. Incidents change games. If you look at the last three home matches, our statistics were actually better than the Champions League and Coppa Italia.
"Things just aren't going our way in Serie A, maybe it's not a coincidence that we always end up with the opposition goalkeeper being Man of the Match, whether it's Michele Di Gregorio, Guillermo Ochoa or Bartłomiej Dragowski," he continued.
“Perhaps the team feels the pressure that we really need points in Serie A and that makes us frustrated, we lose our sharpness and don't move the ball around cleanly."
Head-to-Head
Empoli secured a 1-0 win over Inter in their last meeting in the league which was on 23 January 2023 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
The win ended the Blues' 13-match winless run against the Big Grass Snake who had recorded 12 victories and one draw in the league before last January.
