Scottie Scheffler will be keen to become the first champion to successfully retain the Masters title since 2002 when Tiger Woods retained the trophy.

The American star is arguably the best golfer in the world at the moment having dominated the PGA Tour in the last year or so.
Scheffler has impressively won six PGA Tour events since February 2022 including one major championship, the 2022
Masters Tournament.

The 26-year-old took part in the 2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in March and he finished fourth following a defeat to Rory McIlroy in a third-place playoff match.
Scheffler is sitting pretty at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and he will be eager to prove that he is the King of Golf at the moment when he tees off at the Augusta National Golf Club.
Why Scheffler is among the favourites
The former University of Texas student will be making his fourth Masters appearance having turned a 36-hole, five-stroke lead into victory at Augusta National last year like Jordan Spieth in 2015.
Scheffler is coming into this year's tournament having successfully defended his title in the 2023 Phoenix Open in February.
The reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year is now looking to successfully defend his Masters title.

"I'm just comfortable with where my game is. I feel like I'm improving," Scheffler said on Reuters ahead of his defence of the Masters title.
"I'm definitely learning more and more, the more you can get into contention and be in the moment...I guess the experience helps.
"I was mentally and physically drained, emotionally drained. But the hard times make the good times that much sweeter. "Going into the Masters, it's going to be a fun week."
