Gresini Racing's Enea Bastianini is targeting an improvement in the
Grand Prix of the Americas on Sunday, April 10 after two successive poor races.
The Italian began the 2022 season in style after claiming his maiden MotoGP win in the Qatar Grand Prix in just his second year as a premier-class rider.

However, Bastianini could only manage P11 in the Indonesian Grand Prix after struggling in the wet-weather conditions, although he still collected enough points to lead the championship ahead of the Argentine Grand Prix.
But the 24-year-old had another race to forget after qualifying 12th on the grid, with mistakes resulting in him claiming P10 and dropping to third in the riders' standings on 36 points, nine behind current leader Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia Racing and two adrift of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Brad Binder.

"It didn't go well. It was a really difficult race. I didn't feel right with the bike," he said. "I lost my feeling, unfortunately. In this race here we didn't understand a thing.
"We had many problems. We couldn't reach our goal. Without those mistakes in the race I would've been a little further ahead, but it wouldn't have been a nice weekend anyway."
Bastianini also admitted to having problems with his bike, adding: "Being third in the world championship is always necessary, of course. It's not that I lacked confidence in the offense.
"The problem was in the rear. At certain times I couldn't stay in. As soon as I did a bit extra I couldn't keep my rear in line."
