2019 China Open
ATP & WTA Tours
Finals (both): Sunday 6 October
The
2019 China Open will wrap up in Beijing this weekend, with top contenders looking to claim their respective titles in the ATP (men) and WTA (women) Tours.
On the men’s side, the biggest news has been the return to form of Andy Murray, who has reached the sharp end of the tournament for the first since returning from hip surgery.
However, the Scotsman will come up against top seed Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals and will need to show even more guts and skill to overcome the in-form Austrian, who has thus breezed past Richard Gasquet and Zhanhg Zhizhen.
On the women’s side, top seed Ashleigh Barty has gotten the better of Yulia Putintseva and Zheng Saisai, but faces a stern test in the quarterfinals against Petra Kvitova.
