Ferrari's Carlos Sainz Jr. will be seeking his first-ever podium at the
Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday, October 29 in a bid to challenge for third place in the Drivers' Championship.
The Prancing Horse had hoped to be Red Bull Racing's main challengers this season, but the SF-23 has struggled to even match Mercedes, who are 22 points ahead of them in the World Constructors' Championship.
Sainz Jr. has performed better than team-mate Charles Leclerc and claimed Ferrari's first victory of 2023 in the Singapore Grand Prix, his second career win after the 2022 British Grand Prix.

The Spaniard is 12 points behind Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso (4th) and a further 18 adrift of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton (3rd) after his P3 at the United States Grand Prix.
Sainz Jr. initially finished 4.404 seconds behind McLaren's Lando Norris in P4, but Hamilton's disqualification saw him secure a third podium of the campaign.
The 29-year-old revealed that he forced the team to change to a two-stop strategy during the race in a bid to keep pace with the likes of Max Verstappen and Hamilton.

"I think we did a good job [with the strategy]. Very early on, I was trying to keep up with Lewis and Max, keep within DRS and I destroyed my front tires in the first sector trying to keep up.
"It was clear to stop as soon as I opened up the front tires, I was asking for two, and from there onwards two stops felt like I could push on the tires and I was quite solid."
